He's the master of jet set fashion, with stores in every corner of the globe to prove it, but Michael Kors's latest retail venture is right in his own backyard. His new lifestyle concept store on Soho's Prince Street is just four blocks from his New York home and will carry pieces from each of his lines, from the runway collection to the more affordable Michael Michael Kors. The 3,400-square-foot space is done entirely in gleaming white, with luxury touches Kors fans expect, like animal print furniture and marble flooring. There will be a few pieces of ready-to-wear each season, but the store will devote about 85% of its space to accessories—everything from ultraluxe alligator bags to well-priced leather boots from his bridge line. Kors plans to roll out many more lifestyle shops over the next couple of years-considering how well-crafted the Project Runway judge's zingers are, it's a wonder he can find the time to squeeze it all in.
