Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren marked his 40th Anniversary celebration with a day at the races. Over sized sun hats, equestrian prints and party dresses were the order of the day. Tuxedo-style jackets, top hats, riding crops and straight legged trousers complemented the ensembles. At first glance formal riding glamour transported the audience to the days of gentlemen in bowler hats and ladies of the English manner. Timeless, structured silhouettes and symmetrical lines offered models the opportunity to switch between masculine and feminine moulds at a whim’s notice.

Diesel
Diesel stuck with their signature motifs including the use of stiff symmetrical fabrics matched with light casual parachute inspired edge-wear, as well as moderate appearances of the Mohawk “Diesel Only” mascot. Hues of sunshine yellow, aqua green and arctic white were common features on red heads as they impacted the catwalk. Layered bikini’s, tiny briefs and rah-rah prints captured the urban spirit of ready– to–wear. Diesel has once again managed to glorify the urban industrial movement through the defiance of formal dress.

Lacoste
Lacoste opened their show with a tailored white tuxedo style suit as vibrant red cummerbunds broke white silhouettes. Cummerbunds continued to cinch waists on woman’s wear and added masculinity to feminine suits. The designs remained true to classic Lacoste as a fusion of preppy sweaters and sporty dresses sauntered down the runway. White was the featured shade in true Lacoste style, as were the introduction of nautical stripes and hues of bright candy colours. Polka dots, prints and below the knee hose added youth and energy to the collection.

Temperely
Temperely embraced every emerging trend, featuring the most popular shades of the season including black, grey, white and silver. The first model showcased a polar white knee length skirt, cinched at the waist with a medium sized belt. Black lace inspired prints were a popular feature when paired with urban street wear fabrics. A mixture of textures and shades on loose and form fitting silhouettes captured the shows presence. Oversized tote bags, short caps and cropped cuts added simple elegant finishes.
