Miss Sixty
Miss Sixty continues to love the skinny jeans; the high waist trouser has succumbed to the eternal following of the classic low-rise. As waist lines drop, hemlines are raised creating a smaller, tighter, racier skinny. Dark denims and bright yellows were a common feature as were studded booties and edgy strapped sandals. Zips, chains and dark washed denims were the order for the day when matched with cowl necks, balloon tops and retro embellishments. Head scarves, round glasses and short free flowing prints paid tribute to the eras of free love and hedonism. High waist skirts and over sized cinch belts made an appearance, but low rise micro mini dark wash denim shorts were the highlight of the show.
Badgley Mischka
Badgley Mischka remained classic and elegant in their designs. Hues of black, grey and red took centre stage, as they reflected the theme of classic elegance. High waist pencil line skirts and silhouette enhancing dresses accompanied with oversized sunhats and midway jackets opened the show. Nudes and whites embodied long flowing feminine gowns and mid length A – line dresses. A single red two piece bikini injected a surge of colour into the collection.
Alexander Wang
The models emerged barefaced with unkempt hair, a popular style among young Hollywood starlets and a frequent due embraced by Kate Moss. A grey masculine tuxedo jacket with cropped sleeves paired with worn grey shorts and an oversized tank top opened the show. Young Hollywood rehab chic comes to mind, his collection is edgy, yet understated and clinical. Hues of grey, black and white embraced unstructured tulip dresses, the occasional cinched waist and fitted jacket added a touch of elegance to a hobo-chic collection.
Bill Blass
Bill Blass sort inspiration from Hollywood’s golden era as models embraced elegant evening gowns in tones of nude, beige, pink, peach and lavender. His entire collection showcased a variety of gowns of in satin, silk, lace and tulle, some were simple in elegance and others heavily adorned with embroidery and textures. Party dresses and shimmering sequence and floral prints are paired with matching skinny cinch belts.
