"Life is just a prom. No matter what she's wearing, she can't get out of her prom state of mind!" Betsy Johnson announced, as she revisited prom dresses of every era dating as far back as the 50’s. She continued to explore the various influential decades, the Sixties brought along black and white polka dotted high waist bathing suits, the Seventies embraced ruffles on prom suits and the eighties launched oversized bows, tulle tutus and eclectic colours. The spirit of prom night was in the air, and as Betsy took her final bow her cheeky tee fittingly read “Prom Queen”.
Calvin Klein stayed true to minimal and understated designs. The collection began with an all white ensemble, a high waist skirt, a jacket and a simple polar white tank top. Charcoal grey, arctic white, nudes and aqua greens reflected the vision. Tee shirt dresses and halter gowns kept in tune with the classic Calvin Klein theme. Repetitive, simple and elegant sums up the much anticipated collection.
