On screen they were high fashion designs with very high price tags - so few of us had high hopes of ever trying them on.
But now the clothes from Sex And The City are coming to the High Street.
A collection inspired by the film and television series will go on sale at Marks & Spencer next month.
Stylist Patricia Field has teamed up with the store to design the range.
Often named as Sex And The City's fifth character she is the madcap mind behind the outfits that turned the U.S. series into the stuff of fashion legend.
So when a collaboration with high street stalwart Marks & Spencer was announced in May, the fashion community were intrigued to know what such an unlikely partnership might promise.

The 35-piece collection was unveiled last night at New York's Edison Ballroom. One of the highlights of the city's fashion week which launched this weekend, the show has Field's unmistakable stamp all over it.
Cavorting drag queens and transvestites shared the catwalk with statement creations like scarlet polka puffball frocks (from £75), and sequinned catsuits (£99).
Other items included a striped military-inspired jacked (£75) and a rose-print taffeta prom-style frock (£99). The pink-haired stylist, who was Oscar-nominated for her work on The Devil Wears Prada movie and also styles hit show Ugly Betty, was herself present for the launch, sporting a Dynasty-esque blue lurex minidress from the cut-price collection (£60). Of course in true Carrie Bradshaw style, it was teamed with an extravagant pair of Dior stilettos.
That's not to say that the M&S line has neglected footwear. Accessories included fetish-inspired shoe-boots as well as the ubiquitous floral corsage and shoe-print totes.

To sceptics, unconvinced that the extreme styles would appeal to M&S's middle England market, the designer, 65, said 'If I can wear the clothes, anybody can. Fashion is about enjoying clothes and having fun; it’s not about age.'

This is a canny move from M&S which reported a fall in profits this July, as celebrity fashion collaborations have proved huge money-spinners for high street brands.
Kate Moss' super-successful partnership with Topshop is now in it's seventh season, while one-off collections by the likes of Stella McCartney and Madonna have also proved profitable for H&M.
Kate Bostock, executive director of clothing for Marks & Spencer, said 'We are thrilled to have pulled off this deal with Patricia Field – as soon as we heard about the collection I knew we had to have it!'
The exclusive collection, which will be available in sizes 8-20, hits stores on October 16.
