A worryingly thin Lindsay Lohan shocked fellow shoppers while shopping in New York yesterday with her mother and sister.
The actress looked gaunt and frail as she wandered round a SoHo shoe store, her thin T-shirt doing little to mask her jutting bones.
Lohan, whose weight has varied dramatically over the years, had been looking healthier in recent months. The actress, who is known for her hourglass curves had been looking sexy in figure-hugging dresses by the likes of Herve Leger.

The speed of the 22-year-old's weight loss is almost as much of a concern as her thin frame. It has been attributed in part to a calorie-burning weight-loss drink, VPX RedLine Fat Incinerator, not dissimilar to the Celsius drink favoured by the equally skinny Katie Holmes.

The stress of her tempestuous relationship with DJ girlfriend Sam Ronson could be a reason to be blame for her rapidly diminishing frame.
More likely, however, are her increasingly frequent forays into the image-conscious fashion industry. Lohan sported skimpy little black dresses in a recent photoshoot for US magazine Interview - and a campaign for denim brand Fornarina saw her squeeze into skintight denim.
But yesterday's choice of outfit exposed the frail figure behind the designer clothes and airbrushing.
A skimpy cotton vest revealed jutting shoulderblades, while a side-on view showed a miniscule waist. And at times it seemed the Mean Girls star's skinny legs were too frail to support her tiny body, as she leaned on a rail.
Lohan's 2005 experience of weight loss was thankfully short-lived. Let's hope that the same applies in this instance too.
