A Cheryl Cole lookalike has resorted to a severe crash diet in a bid to emulate the X-Factor star's painfully thin looking frame - despite already being a slim size eight.
Model Cassie Robinson, 21, can earn £200-a-day in personal appearances as the Girls Aloud singer's 'perfect' body double.
But pretty Cassie, who sports a Geordie accent and brunette locks, says work 'became impossible' after Cheryl's weight plummeted to a reported six stone.
Now Cassie has embarked on a strict 'starvation diet' in the hope of shedding the pounds like her celebrity double.
Mum-of-one Cassie has cut out all carbohydrates and is limiting her calorie count to just 1,000-a-day - 1,000 less than the recommended amount for women.
Cassie, who weighs just eight stone nine pounds, has also begun a 'religious' exercise program six days a week.
She hopes the extreme regimes will help her drop from a UK dress size eight to Cheryl's 'stick thin' size four.
Cassie, from Newcastle, said: 'Until recently I was Cheryl's spitting image - we had the same hair, the same bodies and the same accents.
'I thought work would come flooding in, but then she began to get really, really thin and my hopes were dashed.
'It means I've had to start dieting to look like her again. I've cut all carbs out of my diet - no pasta, bread or anything - and I'm limiting my calorie intake to under 1000 calories a day.
'I'm also going to the gym to train every day, and I'm praying that the pounds will begin to fall off.
'I really want to get some work, and I think this is the only way to do it.'
Cassie is currently a slim size eight
Cassie signed up to lookalike agency Fake Faces after she was mistaken for Cheryl on a 'very frequent basis'.
She was set to make hundreds of pounds per week in personal appearances, but her plans were dashed when the star's weight began to plummet.
Cheryl was seen in pictures wearing a tank top and flared jeans which revealed her emaciated frame.
She reportedly dropped two dress sizes following revelations that her Premiership footballer husband Ashley Cole cheated on her with a hairdresser.
Single Cassie said: 'When she went on the X-Factor as a judge last summer, people started coming up to me and asking me if I was her.
'It happens every time I go out, especially when I'm dressed up in Newcastle. People come over and ask to have their picture taken with me - there was even a waiter once who refused to believe I wasn't her.
'But there's no chance now. I've been on the books for ages and no one wants me because of my figure.'
But Cassie, who has a two-and-a-half year old son, said she would never risk injuring herself in the pursuit of Cheryl's tiny frame.
She said: 'I want to make this work, but if I start to feel that my body is becoming unhealthy, I definitely won't pursue it
'I hope that Cheryl makes the same choice and considers her health first - before she gets too thin.'
