‘Most stylish woman alive’ Daphne Guinness auctions £60,000 of designer items at knockdown prices for charity

When heiress Daphne Guinness had a spring-clean of her wardrobe she filled more than a few bags for the charity shop. In fact it is taking more than three hours to auction the designer pieces she no longer wants. The 260 lots are being sold today in aid of Womankind, a charity offering training and education to women in developing countries. It is estimated the sale will raise about £60,000.

This Hollywood Dreams editorial in April’s Flair magazine makes me want to pack up and head South to where the sun do shine. It doesn’t hurt that it features one of the naturally sexiest models out there, Flavia Oliveira. I’m not endorsing smoking (I promise, Fit!), but doesn’t she look way cool with those Nat Sherman rainbow cigarettes? I suppose it would have been fine to use regular white smokes, but the fact that they’re pink, green, and super skinny makes it more fashiony. I know you once said smoking in editorials is not fashionable, but are colorful cigarettes freaky or fabulous?

D&G Pre-Fall 2008 goes back to school

Gossip Girl has seemingly inspired the boys at Dolce & Gabanna with their Pre Fall 2008 ads resembling the cast of the popular teen drama series.Choosing to go with the usual D&G format of bunching together a group of models, the model castings were rather inspired and included some up and coming modeling names. Australia model, Abbey Lee, who has become a regular in the last season or two at D&G was joined by Giedre, Laura Blokhina, Lyoka Tyagnereva, Martha Streck and male model Valentin Savchenko.The muted colour scheme of this shoot is all a little too private school for me, while the second lot of images (below) seems to send the boys back to a scary world of pale blue suits.

Alex Perry S-S 08/09 catwalk at RAFW

Alex Perry was one of the latest designers to grace the runway at RAFW today. As well as his usual breath taking floor-length gowns, he showed a cheekier side with animal print mini-dresses and playful white play-suits. There were plenty of sheer fabrics, tulles, embroideries and bows - as always, it’s all in the detail for Mr. Perry.
